Vodkas that can be pleasurably drunk straight, at room temperature, with no olives or nothin’:

* Dogfish Head “Blue Hen”
* Snow Queen

Vodkas that make pretty damn good martinis (in something approximating rank order)

* Imperia
* Ketel One
* Grey Goose

Vodkas that don’t make a very good martini, but are acceptable in gimlets:

* Stolichnaya

Vodkas that should be mixed with fruit juice and fed to other people:

* Rain (all organic!)
* Absolut (remember when Absolute was the high end vodka? Now that’s called “level”)
* Smirnoff
* Other crap
