I’m feeling lethargic and overstuffed. Two straight weeks of travel, interspersed with holiday partying and missing my regular exercise have taken their toll. There is also the fact that we’ve eaten no fewer than five cheese plates in that time. Each one was remarkably good, and they all seemed like a good idea at the time … but wow. Five cheese plates in two weeks.
On the other hand, the partying with the family has been good. My brother in law and his wife showed up last night, bearing many gifts. The haul this year includes:
A circular saw. | |
The green laser pointer. This is, no kidding, like being hit in the face with a big bucket of ice-cold awesome. This is a daytime visible laser, like, a billion times brighter than any paltry red laser. Outside, I can put a spot on the clouds, or on houses hundreds of feet away. At night, I can use it as a pointer, since the beam is freakin’ visible. It rocks.
The angry squid shirt. On the back it says “Now they’re pissed.”
I love my Nano |
All this, plus various art supplies and drawing books to indulge my hobby of capturing images of little flying critters. Overall, way too many gifts, but I’m really tripped out. Plus, we left all the ones from my side of the family at home, so we get to do the gift opening thing again tomorrow when we get back.
More important though, as of tomorrow, we’re back on the horse with exercise and getting the diet back below one full stick of butter per day.
