I am filled with giddy, geeky bliss over my new Vonage service. I plugged in the device, rewired my network to make more sense, bought a package of velcro strips, shortened some wires that were entirely too long, and redid the power configuration to better balance things out…and it worked like a charm! Note that at no point did I have to even configure the damn thing. It just works. So far, I’ve only made in-house calls, but the quality seems quite good. Woo.
My abs hurt like something that hurts a lot. My brother and I got into this semi-joking competitive mode over the weekend, and ended up doing the “Extreme Fitness Challenge.” It involves a lot of running through mud and laughing. However, my standard ab routine at the karate school hurt a *lot* today. I’m trying to avoid laughter until I heal.
I’m not filled with joy now that we’ve turned on the heat in the house. Don’t get me wrong, I like the warm-ness. What I don’t like is the “gurgly gurgly” that accompanies each triggering of the thermostat. It’s like someone flushing in our walls. We have forced, hot water heat. Based on previous experience, I’m certain that it’s, for example, dumping hot water into the linen closets. Or something.
Oh yeah, and we’re having a party on Saturday. Anyone within the sound of my keystrokes is welcome. Stop by around or after 7pm for candy, homebrew, snacks, tunes, and general good times.
