Get out the BBQ sauce, man, it’s done. As we were walking into Target, I dropped it on the pavement and it split in half. Game over.<\/p>\n
I’ve had this phone since September of 2003. This means that I ought to qualify for the “new every two” program from Verizon. This means that they give you $100 off a new phone every two years. Based on my previous experience with them, I went into the Verizon store armed for bear. I brought every scrap of paper that Verizon has ever given me, in the three years of our relationship. Keep in mind that I’ve spent hours on the phone with these morons over various billing disputes … and they’ve never been able to get my information straight.<\/p>\n
I happened to get the store manager when I got to the desk. I said “I want a new phone under this program.” He said “you don’t qualify because you’ve only been a customer since June of 2004.” I handed him my original contract from 2003. Her perused it, clicked and clacked, and said “which phone would you like?”<\/p>\n
I was stunned. I actually had to go get a cup of coffee before proceeding, because I was so unprepared for him to just fix the goddamn problem<\/em>. He just left a “comment” in the electronic record, explaining what was up. The next person I dealt with read the record and said “okay, which phone would you like?”<\/p>\nI got the RAZR, because it rocks.<\/p>\n
Then, of course, I spent about two hours of geeky bliss playing with my new bluetooth enabled phone. In order to get iSync to synchronize my address book, I had to edit a file named: \/Applications\/iSync.app\/Contents\/PlugIns\/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice\/
