Her parents drove in (from freakin&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.state.pa.us\">PA<\/a>, how cool is that?), and we&#8217;ve so far been to two of the three major parties scheduled for the weekend.   A potluck for the graduates and their immediate families hosted by a classmate, the picnic at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wintercarnival.com\/ice_palace.htm\">lake phalen<\/a> we just threw, and the formal graduation (at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alumnicenter.umn.edu\/About.htm\">alumni center&#8221;<\/a> of the University of Minnesota.  I won&#8217;t lie to you:  I&#8217;m pooped.  I was pretty well pooped after <a href=\"http:\/\/fdmts.livejournal.com\/19411.html\">the bourbon tasting<\/a> on Wed.  Thursday was a slow day, and now Friday and today have been extended remix versions of the &#8220;oh my gosh, we never really even got to know each other and now it&#8217;s time to say goodbye&#8221; dance.  Wheeeee.<\/p>\n<p>One of the picnickers today brought a box of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackboxwines.com\/index.html\">black box wine<\/a>.  Now, I&#8217;ve been making fun of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allabreve.org\/La_Boheme\/lb_pages\/lb_boxxo.html\">wineinabox<\/a> for some time now, based on the offerings from Franzia and the like.  This, however appeared to be the grand poobah of such containers.  &#8220;Bottles are expensive,&#8221; says the label, &#8220;by not using them, we are able to offer outstanding wine at substantial savings.&#8221;    Why do I worry about any wine that feels the need to start off our relationship by apologizing?<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, there was a truly glorious sunset today.<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/chris.dwan.org\/pics\/sunset.jpg\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s graduation weekend for Jen and the party never ceases.
