I appear to be wracked by the same disease that’s afflicting everyone else in the country. It started out with a couple days of general muscle aches. After that was the truly astonishing mucus production. Now it’s moved on to the ever-popular frog-in-the-throat. I’m on the usual cocktail of 2g of vitamin C, claritin, and chlortrimaton. Plus Nyquil for sleeping, as if drugged, through the night. <\/p>\n

Dipped the tops of the wine bottles in wax last night. The results are as expected, but I don’t like it as much as I had expected. I want the airtight seal of wax … but with the sleek and professional look of the heat shrink foil tops. Tonight, I plan to print up labels. I’ve got a name for the white, but the red is confounding me. “Chris’s Stupid Pun Red, 2006?” That seems to be the recurring theme. It’s a Barolo, a noble variety from Italy … in case you want to help. Winner gets a bottle.<\/p>\n

In work news, I was having a pretty good day yesterday – got a cluster totally online and cranking … with all the little lights on and everything. Then I went over to our data center and discovered that they had thrown away all our shipping crates for all our servers. Yeah, that’s going to put a crimp in my ability to return demo units and stuff.<\/p>\n

Trick-or-treaters were very cute, until about 8:30 when they became little ruffians. We shut the door and brought in the pumpkins.<\/p>\n
