It was a festive affair, and people brought all sorts of food and drink.  My carrot wine was an unexpected hit &#8230; and people were demanding that I write down the recipe for them.  It was sort of flattering.  The sauerkraut was also well received &#8230; prompting one conversation about the difference between my family recipe (cabbage, salt, and time) and that of a woman at the party (cabbage, salt, time, spices, onions, garlic &#8230;).
