The big pink pill is implicated in, variously:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blood disease (severe)\u2014Chloroquine may cause blood disorders\n<li>Eye or vision problems\u2014Chloroquine, especially in high doses, may cause serious side effects affecting the eyes\n<li>Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency\u2014Chloroquine may cause serious side effects affecting the blood in patients with this deficiency\n<li>Liver disease\u2014May decrease the removal of chloroquine from the blood, increasing the chance of side effects\n<li>Nerve or brain disease (severe), including convulsions (seizures)\u2014Chloroquine may cause muscle weakness and, at high doses, seizures\n<li>Porphyria\u2014Chloroquine may cause episodes of porphyria to occur more frequently\n<li>Psoriasis\u2014Chloroquine may bring on severe attacks of psoriasis\n<li>Stomach or intestinal disease (severe)\u2014Chloroquine may cause stomach or intestinal irritation\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The above side effects may also occur or get worse after you stop taking this medicine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Refresh my memory:  How bad is Malaria, again?
